Chemistry meets the future: hydrogen as the key to sustainable energy

Instead of chemistry lessons in the classroom, FOS students had the opportunity to visit our laboratory for an exciting hydrogen workshop. After an introduction to the world of hydrogen, the young people learnt why this transparent gold plays a key role in the energy transition. As a clean energy source, it has the potential to significantly reduce CO₂ emissions. The colour classification of hydrogen (green, blue, etc.) was also examined in detail. Workshop highlights were: Experiments on hydrogen production, insights into gas turbines and experiments in the wind tunnel. This day motivated the pupils:innen to continue studying sustainability and renewable energies. Perhaps we will soon see some of them as students at our Faculty of Mechanical Engineering! Great that you were here!
