H2-Direkt: An idea becomes reality

In the fourth lecture in the successful ‘Energy - Environment - Sustainability’ series, Dr Elke Wanke will be shedding light on the topic of ‘H2-Direct: Hydrogen in the gas network to the end customer’ on Tuesday, the 11th of June.

When gas distribution grids are converted to green energy sources, they play a decisive role in the energy transition. Energie Südbayern, Energienetze Bayern, and Thüga are jointly taking the first step towards converting the gas infrastructure with hydrogen. The pilot project for the transport, distribution, and use of H2 at the distribution grid level is unique in this form to date: 100 percent hydrogen has been transported to end customers via an existing local grid in Hohenwart in the district of Pfaffenhofen since October 2023 - with success.

On Tuesday, 11 June, Dr Elke Wanke, Head of Renewable Gases & Hydrogen Officer at Energie Südbayern Group, Energienetze Bayern GmbH & Co. KG, at the Ingolstadt University of Applied Sciences. The event is part of the ‘Energy - Environment - Sustainability’ series.

The speaker will be available for discussion afterward. The event is organized by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Sabine Bschorer, Head of the Bachelor's degree program ‘Energy Systems and Renewable Energies’ at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering. The target groups are students, school pupils, environmental groups, and other interested parties. The 45-minute lectures take place on Tuesdays at 6.30 pm at TH Ingolstadt, Campus Ingolstadt, Room G215, and online.
