Hochschul-Assistenz-System HAnS
The joint project HAnS (Hochschul-Assistenz-System) is developing a learning experience platform that will make an important contribution to the digitalization of university teaching. Eight universities and three institutes across Germany are participating in this project with a total of 40 contributors. THI is responsible for the "User perspective and acceptance" work package. We are also involved in the technical development and are responsible for integrating HAnS into the THI Moodle.
More than just a video platform
Teachers can use HAnS to share materials, such as lecture videos, with their students. In contrast to other platforms, however, the material is also prepared with the help of AI. Among other things, subtitles are created automatically, individual topics are extracted and exercises are generated.
Goal-oriented and flexible learning for students
Students have the opportunity to interact with the HAnS system via an AI tutor. They can search through educational videos for terms and jump to the relevant parts of the video. The AI tutor's recommendations and exercises allow students to check their learning progress and receive learning recommendations according to their individual needs.
