The focus of the MINT cluster "Servus-MINT" is on educationally disadvantaged children and young people from primary, middle and special schools in the region. Since studies repeatedly show that social background (socioeconomic background, parents' level of education, learning difficulties, regional differences) is crucial for educational opportunities and learners with a migration background in particular are often affected by risk factors (e.g. risk of poverty, low language skills), it is particularly important to the applicants to focus on supporting and empowering this target group.
What is Servus-MINT?
Region 10 has grown strongly in recent decades, particularly in the automotive sector. Due to the influx of workers, the proportion of people with a migration background in the city of Ingolstadt alone is 48.6% of the population. Servus-MINT therefore focuses on educationally disadvantaged children and young people1 with the aim of enabling them to actively and effectively shape and successfully secure a sustainable transformation of the region.
