Research at ForTraNN

ForTraNN enables a holistic knowledge process through research that is close to real-life situations, for example through real-world laboratories, practice forums or innovative citizen participation formats, in combination with established methods of qualitative and quantitative empirical research and engineering modelling. In this way, relevant research questions are first identified and then practical research results are achieved through high-quality analyses.

By means of transdisciplinary research cooperation with companies, municipalities and civil society actors, transformation is shaped with a view to practical application or the common good, taking into account particular interests and needs. Students are actively involved through intergenerational practical projects or real-world laboratories and prepared for shaping a future worth living through teaching.

The intensive cooperation with various THI institutes and their specialised knowledge (e.g. in energy: InES, mobility: Carissma, Almotion, AI: AININ, sustainability: inas, futures: Foresight) enables a profound exchange of knowledge between the various disciplines. Cooperation with national and international research institutions supports the interdisciplinary approach of ForTraNN.
