Start-up support

Anyone who becomes self-employed can take advantage of a wide range of state aid. This also applies to business start-ups in science and research. The Research Promotion and EU Projects Division of the Research and Transfer office, in cooperation with the THI's start-up network, advises and supports business start-ups from the THI's environment.

Both the Bavarian funding programme FLÜGGE and the federal programme EXIST offer financial support for the preparation of innovative start-up projects from universities and research institutions in the early stages of the start-up. In particular, the preparation of a viable business plan and the development of marketable products and services are supported.

Main objectives of the start-up grants

Financial and material security for founders from universities and research institutions in the preliminary phase of setting up a company, working on drawing up the business plan and developing marketable products and services
Guiding students, graduates and scientists to entrepreneurial independence and the founding of their own company
Qualification for entrepreneurial thinking and acting
