Professor Vanina Durski receives a Senior Fellowship from the Ignaz-Kögler-Stiftung

More efficient logistics processes, improved supply chains, and greater customer satisfaction are the aims of Professor Vanina Durski's research project. The Brazilian Kögler Senior Fellow, who will be working at THI for the next six months, also wants to promote the growth of the logistics sector in Ingolstadt and the region.

Artificial intelligence offers great potential for automation in logistics, especially in warehouse and transport management. Professor Vanina Durski's research project aims to support the daily tasks of logistics employees such as supply chain analysts, inventory managers, and warehouse managers by identifying AI tools that can be used immediately in the office to increase productivity.

THI supports Professor Durski and her research with its expertise - including the so-called 5D method for evaluating digital technologies developed by Professor Bernhard Axmann - and its strong connection to regional companies.

Professor Durski has been doing outstanding work for more than ten years at the University of Santa Catarina in Joinville, Brazil, which has maintained a comprehensive strategic partnership with THI since 2013. Her project aims to strengthen and deepen the exchange between the two universities.

The Ignaz-Kögler Foundation sponsors Professor Durski's stay in Ingolstadt. The foundation awards scholarships to excellent academics from abroad who have already made a name for themselves in the specialist world and wish to carry out joint research projects with universities or research institutions in Ingolstadt, for example as part of a sabbatical or a research semester. The research projects should strengthen the local research portfolio in an application-orientated manner or support the expansion of strategic fields. Fellows are expected to present their research work to the city's public.
