Project manager Prof. Dr. Alexander Baur welcomed the Bavarian Minister of Digital Affairs, Dr. Fabian Mehring, at an event of the “AI-Transfer-Plus” funding project. The aim of the project is to accompany eight companies from the Bavarian SME sector on their way to their first AI use case.

After the opening by the moderators Lisa Urban (THI) and Matthias Brechenmacher (unternehmerTUM), THI-President Prof. Dr. Walter Schober and Minister of State Dr. Mehring addressed the participants. In the subsequent panel, Dr. Mehring discussed the potential and challenges of AI in SMEs together with Prof. Baur and representatives of Bavarian companies. 

Alexander Baur, Professor for Innovative Mobility Concepts & Business Models of Artificial Intelligence at THI Business School, then presented the technical and strategic aspects of AI in a specialist lecture, supplemented by contributions from representatives of the unternehmerTUM start-up center on the success factors of AI projects and best practices from their innovation ecosystem. The highlight of the afternoon was the presentations by the participating companies, who presented their previous experiences with AI use cases.

The event was rounded off with a tour of the Brigk Start-up Center. With this event, THI underlined its role as a driver of innovation and digital change in the SME sector and remains a central hub for the transfer of knowledge and technologies into practice
