The "UN Creativity and Innovation Day" on 21 April calls for mobilising political will and resources to solve global problems. On the occasion of this International Day, Prof. Dr. Peter Augsdörfer from THI Business School with research focus on "Management Strategy, Technology and Innovation Management" organised an international symposium on creativity and innovation in the underground - colloquially referred to as "bootlegging". This is understood in the corporate world as an unformalised and undeclared (secret) bottom-up innovation process for the benefit of the company: an employee ("bootlegger") develops a project that has nothing to do with the "official" work and is allowed to do so in the knowledge that it will benefit the company in some way, although it may also imply an ethical dilemma.

A total of 42 participants from different continents exchanged views virtually on this exciting topic. This was the third symposium on the topic of "Bootlegging", an annual series organised by Augsdörfer.
