Students in the Marketing / Sales / Media (MVM) master's degree program at THI Business School have developed a complete social media marketing concept for the non-profit Open Search Foundation (OSF). The basic concept has now been presented by MVM program director Prof. Dr. Alexander Decker, Professor of Consumer Goods Marketing and New Media and Vice Dean of THI Business School, at the Science Day of the Nuremberg Metropolitan Region. Decker is a co-founder of the initiative and also sits on the OSF board. Under the motto "Responsibility of science towards research, society and the individual", he discussed ethical and legal aspects of such large research projects with, among others, Bavarian Science Minister Bernd Sibler. A recording of the event will be broadcast on BR Alpha on November 9, 2021.

The goal of the OSF is to develop a neutral and open Internet search index as the basis for a European search engine. Numerous European universities and research institutions support the Foundation. The sub-project #ethicsinsearch is currently funded by the Mercator Foundation with 200,000 euros.
